Jesus, the Anointed One

In the Old Testament, anointing was used for prophets, priests and kings to indicate that they were set apart for service to God, and served as forerunners pointing to Jesus. Today, we read of three separate occasions on which Jesus was anointed and worshiped as the Christ, the Messiah, the true Anointed One.
