An Excellent Wife

The Hebrew word “chayil” translated as “excellent” in Proverbs 31:10 connotes a force (to be reckoned with), an army, wealth, virtue, valor and strength. Today’s passage exhorts our young people to aim high as they consider qualities in a future spouse. At the root of it all is finding someone who fears the Lord.
