Jesus on Thanks

Some in the Eastern Orthodox tradition have considered thanklessness to be the eighth deadly sin. With all of the riches of God’s grace and mercy that we enjoy in Christ, why is it that we have to be commanded to be thankful? The grateful Samaritan leper in today’s text teaches us that thankful people have eyes to truly see, feet that move them toward Jesus and whole lives laid out before him in gratitude. May we remember that only thankfulness will keep us at the feet of our savior.
