Mark 1:1-13 Today we begin a sermon series through the gospel of Mark. In contrast to the habit of New Year’s resolutions that typically focus on our deficiencies and reflect our self-interest, the gospel way is profoundly counter-cultural. As anticipated by the entire Old Testament, we see in the life and ministry of Jesus that the way of the gospel is the way of glory mixed with suffering. It’s never easy, but it’s always worth it.
