Mark 1:14-34 Based on prior personal experiences or the post-modern spirit of the age, we may not have a favorable view of authority or even consider it oppressive. However, the gospel shows us a different kind of authority in Christ, one that is redemptive because it is both messianic and transformative. The authority that comes into the believer’s life through the gospel is designed not to keep us in line but rather to enable us to live and walk in newness of life.
