2 Samuel 3:1-39

Just as nitroglycerin may be used in tremendously destructive ways, so also, when properly applied, it may accomplish great good for physical health and other arenas.  In this chapter, we observe the machinations of Abner and Joab as they seek to accomplish their own plans.  Yet in his sovereign goodness, Yahweh is able to redirect their wayward plans to achieve his purposes.  In the same way, may we as followers of Jesus always remember that God remains intimately involved in accomplishing his purposes our lives, namely our sanctification and his own glory.
