—Prayer Meeting June 1
This summer on Sunday evenings from 6pm – 7pm, we are going to be gathering as a church family at a locations (or locations) yet to be determined. We will meet every Sunday night, but rotate what the event is, cycling between prayer meetings, worship service, and a fellowship meal. These evenings will begin Sunday, June 1 with a prayer meeting.

—Officer (elder) nominations
The session would like to announce that we are preparing to receive nominations for the office of elder at Mercy Church. Here is a link to the nomination form. Please remember if you’d like to nominate a particular man to this office it is imperative that you speak with him first to make sure he is willing to accept the nomination. Also, getting nominated does not guarantee nor obligate anyone to anything. Upon being nominated each man will have the opportunity to go through training, and at any point during the training either he or the Session could decide that the office of elder is not right for him at this time.

This is a significant and weighty thing, please prayerfully consider men in the church who exhibit the qualifications listed for elders in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

—New Members Class
If you have been around Mercy for a while and are interested in either learning more about us as a church or taking the next step and pursuing membership, we are offering a 4 week new members class meeting during the Sunday school hour. There are 3 remaining classes on May 18, June 1, and June 8. Taking this class does not obligate you to anything, and they are open to anyone who is interested. If you have to miss a class, we are flexible and can offer make up classes via Zoom, FaceTime, etc.

—Communicants Class
Parents, please let one of the elders know if you have a desire to see your child admitted to the table for the Lord’s Supper. We have been developing a new communicants curriculum that should serve the particular needs of our congregation better and are getting it ready to use. If you have any questions about this process please let us know.
