| —Prayer Meeting June 1 Sunday, June 1 from 6pm-7pm we will gather for a prayer meeting at South Middle school. Here is an outline that will guide our prayer meeting. There will be pizza and popsicles to follow. —No Communion On Sunday, June 1 Beloved, as there will be no ordained Teaching Elder at worship on Sunday, June 1 (I’ll be officiating a wedding) we will not be celebrating the sacrament of communion together. There will be a guest preacher, and everything else will be as usual. Communion will resume Sunday, June 8. —Officer (elder) nominations There are a couple more weeks for nominating candidates for the office of elder. Here is a link to the nomination form. Please remember if you’d like to nominate a particular man to this office it is imperative that you speak with him first to make sure he is willing to accept the nomination. Also, getting nominated does not guarantee nor obligate anyone to anything. Upon being nominated each man will have the opportunity to go through training, and at any point during the training either he or the Session could decide that the office of elder is not right for him at this time. This is a significant and weighty thing, please prayerfully consider men in the church who exhibit the qualifications listed for elders in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. —Sunday School Paused For The Summer That’s it, that’s the announcement. There will be no Sunday school for the summer to give teachers a break. —Communicants Class Parents, please let one of the elders know if you have a desire to see your child admitted to the table for the Lord’s Supper. We have been developing a new communicants curriculum that should serve the particular needs of our congregation better and are getting it ready to use.
