Announcements – March 7th

“When the devil casts up to us our sin and declares that we deserve death and hell, we ought to say: I confess that I deserve death and hell. What of it? Does this mean that I shall be sentenced to eternal damnation? By no means. For I know One who suffered and made satisfaction for my sins. His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Where He is, there I shall be also.”
— Martin Luther

—Congregational Meeting 3/8/26
The Session has called for a congregational meeting on March 8, 2026 immediately following the worship service. This meeting is to clarify the Trustees of Mercy Church and discuss the potential purchase of Rock Family Church and vote on sustaining or withdrawing from the process. This Updated Property Slide Deck gives updated financial information as well as some thoughts/things to consider from the property committee as we prepare for this meeting. As this lunch will be immediately following church, I would encourage you who might need to eat (or feed your children) to bring some food.

—No Sunday Evening Meeting
Because we are having a very important and weighty meeting that might take substantial time immediately following the worship service on Sunday morning we are not going to have any further meeting on Sunday evening. I would encourage you to take that time to fellowship with people from your church family.

—Women’s Ministry Events
Women’s Evening Bible Study: 7pm on February 24th, March 10th, March 24th

Women’s Retreat: April 24th-25th (details to come)

Please contact Sarah Denui if you would like more information.

—Service Opportunity
We have a wonderful opportunity to serve together at Compass Women’s Center on March 12th at 9am to help them change out their nest clothes from winter to spring/summer. The nest is a boutique the woman can shop in after their appointment to get free clothes, shoes, and baby items. This is a huge blessing to these struggling women who have chosen life. This will look like us sorting through bins to remove winter items and then replacing them with spring/summer items as well as putting clothes on hangers, organizing by size, etc. So if you think your child could handle this they are welcome to come help as well! Please let Mary Felton know if you have any questions and if you are planning to come.
