| Here’s just a few announcements for the life of Mercy Church! —Temporary Session and Congregational Meeting Church family, Last night there was a called meeting of the New River Presbytery. This meeting was planned for the specific purpose to appoint other elders, both teaching and ruling, to be a temporary session for our church. This was done and I am pleased to announce that the following men have been nominated and elected to serve as our temporary session: Teaching Elder Dennis Bills Teaching Elder Barret Jordan Teaching Elder Mike VanDerLinden Ruling Elder Jason Brooks Ruling Elder Scott Suza Ruling Elder Jim-Bob Williams Please join me in thanking our God that he has raised up these men who are willing to sacrifice their time and energy to help shepherd our church through a difficult situation. Each of these men has their own ministry at their own local churches to which God has entrusted them, and they have answered the call to come and shepherd us as well. Additionally, the presbytery is calling for our church to have a congregational meeting on Sunday, September 14 for this purpose: “to vote on approval of the provisional session appointed by the New River Presbytery.” This means that you as a congregation need to vote to approve this commission to serve as the temporary session of Mercy Church. This meeting will take place in the evening, and after we will be able to enjoy our planned fellowship meal together. The precise time has yet to be determined, but will be communicated shortly. Thank you all for your patience and prayers. Your Savior loves you so much that he died for you to wash you clean and make you new creations. He will continue caring for his Church that he purchased with his own blood and filled with his own Spirit. —Sunday School begins this Sunday! Here are the children/youth classes available (determined by age as of September 1st): Age 0-4 years Age 5-8 years Age 9-11 years Age 12+ Sunday School hour is 9:15-10:15 am. Children in the 0-4 age class will need to be picked up from their parent/guardian when Sunday School concludes at 10:15. Please remember to have your child use the restroom prior to drop off for Sunday School/nursery. —Nursery Worker Meeting This Sunday There is going to be a meeting on Sunday, September 7th at 1:00pm following the worship service. This meeting will be to to review policies and provide an opportunity for those who have never served in nursery to get training. For all those attending, there will be pizza provided.
