1 Samuel 1:1-2:11

As the story of God’s people unfolds in the book of Samuel we see that he preserves them through a great deal of conflict in the time of the judges to bring about his own king. The story of Samuel begins with the barren woman, Hannah, providentially having a child through the mercy of God, and this child Samuel is the last judge. God faithfully and graciously preserves Hannah through difficulty, and by faith she responds in glorious song. As believers in Christ, we are brought into the story of God’s people and are able to sing songs of praise with them through eternity.
