1 Samuel 9:1-10:16

We often fail to look at the big picture of life, instead being gripped by the vortex of the immediate.  That can lead to disillusionment, despair or bitterness.  Today’s text on the anointing of Saul as king of Israel reminds us that we belong to a covenant making God who orders events in order to accomplish his plan, even when we’re not able to recognize or understand it.  If we belong to Christ, he is equipping us and makes every one of us useful in his kingdom.
