1 Samuel 7:2-17

How does revival take place when there are no signs of life?  After the return of the ark from the Philistines, Israel languished in syncretistic idol worship for twenty years, until they turned away from their idolatry in grief and contrition that was wrought in them by the Spirit.  This repentance involved changes in both heart and behavior.  May we be good stewards of the pain in our lives, receiving it as a gift from God to let us know that something’s not right.  As we turn toward to the God of the universe, we can be confident that he will deliver us.
