The Love of Christ Should Stir Our Affections

Mark 15:1-39

C.S. Lewis once wrote that we (Christians) are far too easily satisfied. We set our affections on good yet ultimately trivial things, while trivializing the great news of the gospel. In today’s text, we see a resolute Jesus set upon willingly laying down his life for us to purchase a people for himself. Let’s reflect on this love, manifest in Jesus’ excruciating sacrifice on our behalf, to warm our cold hearts and drive us to a response of deep affection.
