Mark 10:46-11:11 Today’s text treats both the humble entry of a blind man dependently pleading for healing to the Son of David, Messiah, as well as Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. He comes not as the conquering earthly king mounted on a war horse as expected by many but rather as the humble, obedient servant of God. He came not to restore the kingdom of David but as King David’s greater son, to inaugurate an everlasting kingdom. As citizens of that kingdom, we are transformed from beggars enslaved to sin, to humble dependent servants of Christ.
