1 Samuel 13:1-23

Our text today shows the beginning of the end of the reign of King Saul and leaves us with a cliffhanger concerning the welfare of Israel, facing enemies like the sand on the seashore.  But we remember that our God is good, powerful and inclined to bless his people.  We are called to turn away from disobedience and toward faith in this God that does not forget his people, but made a way of salvation for us through the blood of Jesus, which is our gospel hope.
