1 Samuel 29:1-11

In today’s text, we see both David’s rejection by Achish along with Yahweh’s protection of him for his future reign. In this sin-marred world, we may anticipate painful rejection even by those who have been close to us. Even so, when things don’t seem to be going according to our personal plan, it may be that God has a better purpose for us. May we learn to hold our own plans with an open hand while seeking first his kingdom and righteousness.
