“He was truly God, and therefore could satisfy; he was truly man, and therefore could obey and suffer in our stead. He was God and man in one person, that God and man might be happy together again.”
—George Whitefield

Announcements

—June 8 Evening Worship
This Sunday, 8 we will have an evening worship service, which will be similar but different from the morning service. This will be an excellent opportunity to spend more time in worship and fellowship with our church family. I highly encourage you to attend! This article gives some historical and theological perspective for evening worship: The Blessing of Evening Worship

—Extended Officer Nominations
All, the Session has decided to keep nominations open for 3 more weeks starting this Sunday to include nominations to the office of Deacon. That means we will have had 4 weeks total to nominate individuals to the office of elder, and we will have 4 total weeks to nominate diaconal candidates. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Here is a link to the nomination form. Please remember if you’d like to nominate a particular man for officer it is imperative that you speak with him first to make sure he is willing to accept the nomination. Also, getting nominated does not guarantee nor obligate anyone to anything. Upon being nominated each man will have the opportunity to go through training, and at any point during the training either he or the Session could decide that the office of elder is not right for him at this time.

This is a significant and weighty thing, please prayerfully consider men in the church who exhibit the qualifications listed for officers in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
